TECHNICAL DETAILS

Steel basin

The SCFB with a steel basin can be built up to a length of 8 meters and in standard heights up to the height of the SCFB 1500. The basin from the SCFB is mate out of 8 mm thick steel. The steel basins undergo a thermal spraying and powder coating RAL 9005 for a longer life time and for the sustainability of the product.

All SCFB will be built in the requested lengths- and heights and come with an installation schedule for this length.

The barrier is easy to install. The system is made of very durable materials designed for at least 100 years and remains virtually maintenance free of many years.

Concreet Basin

The Concrete basin can be pre-cast or cast-insitu to any length to suit the floating wall increments. This material suits the full range of SCFB barriers up to the SCFB 2500. The concrete basin is designed and detailed in-house and there is additional design input required by the purchaser. The RC design can be carried out by Hyflo.

Heights (SCFB)

The floating wall consists of a PUR foam core with a fiberglass or GRP outer layer. The walls are reinforced with composite profiles and textile fiberglass. The wall is fabricated in 1 m lengths (deduction of a notional tolerance) and connected together to form the overall length of the required barrier. The connections of the walls to each other are done by a reinforced rubber strip and stainless-steel mounting strips. The SCFB can be built in standard heights from 500mm, 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm, 2000mm, and 2500mm

All SCFB will be build for the requested length and heights and com with an installation schedule for this length.

Side guides

The operation of the SCFB relies on guide rails or guide slots at each end of the barrier to seal against, the sidewalls. Where the barrier is fit between two fixed walls a guide rail,or a guide slot is mounted to the wall and seal. The rail-or slot rail also allows the barrier to guide the wall when rising and falling.

It is possible to choose between guide rails (1 ) or guide slots (2). Guide rails are mounted at the outside of the fixed wall and guide slot can be mounted inside the fixed wall.

Top coverage

The top of the barrier is standard made of galvanized steel and can be powder coated in every requested color. Also it is possible to make the top of the barrier in stainless steel, corten steel or diamond profile plate.

Invisible top

it is also possible to make the top plates of the SCFD barrier invisible by covering these with the pavement. Also the lid can be made of a water gutter to fill the barrier.

Activation (SCFB)

SCFB with pipe connection can be used when the drain outlet is lower than the bottom of the barrier. The pipe connection is also used as a second inlet for longer lengths.

In most locations it is recommended to use a service pit for testing and cleaning the system.

Service pit (SCFB)

With a service pit the SCFB can be easier tested and cleaned. All our service pits are made out of very durable PE-HD material and welded very strong together to suit the dimensions of the SCFB.

When the level of the bottom of SCFB is lower than the drain system a pit with pump with an automatic switch system is necessary to lower the barrier after a flood.

Optional:

It is an option to order an extra switch in the pit. This switch can be connected to an alarm system when . When the barrier rises.

Water runnel quick fill System

The water runnel with the Quick Fill System is recommended in fast flood locations. It allows a faster process of filling the basin and closing the barrier.

When (rain)water flows into the water runnel, this water will drain into the sewer by the small pipe connection. The barrier will not rise. If there is a flood, the water flows through the overflow into the basin of the SCFB and the barrier will rise
