PRIMARY FLOOD PROTECTION

Supportive and complimentary structures to ‘hard’ infrastructure such as dams, dikes and embankments for flood defence in flood prone, low-lying cities and regions.

The concrete basin can be built at any required length. The standard protection heights for the SCFB are 500mm , 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm, 2000mm. The floating walls are fabricated in 1 m lengths and connected together to form the overall length of the required barrier. The connections of the walls to each other are done by a reinforced rubber strip and stainless-steel mounting strips and is then easy to install in the concrete basin.

SECUNDARY FLOOD PROTECTION

Effective automatic industrial and building access and underground structure protection against heavy rainfall, typhoons and tidal-water flooding challenges.

The SCFB steel basin can be build up to 8 meter in length and sections to require any length. The standard protection heights for the SCFB are 500mm , 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm. All SCFB will be build for the requested lengths and heights and come with an installation schedule for this length.

PRIVATE PROPERTY PROTECTION

This smaller version is intended to protect small gates and private property against floods. Because of this reduced scale and the lighter materials the barrier is easy to install and in most circumstances does not require a service pit and can be fit with a standard pipe connection to the sewer.

The smaller version can be built in length up to 4 meters and in heights till 600mm and 2 meter length till 900mm height. The basin from is made out of stainless steel. All will be build for the requested sizes and come with an installation schedule.

The Self Closing Flood Barrier SCFB™, is a unique effective flood defense system to protect people and property from inland waterway floods caused by heavy rainfall, typhoons or tidal waters. The system has been developed in the Netherlands to provide optimal protection against extreme high water levels. The barrier systems have proved to be the best flood protection and has already been built and installed in many countries around the globe.

In operational use globally since 1998, the SCFB™ is acclaimed as the world's most effective and reliable flood protection system. The success can be attributed to the simple, but ingenious concept of using the approaching floodwaters to automatically raise the barrier; effectively using the problem to create the solution. With an unblemished 100% track record the SCFB™ is a highly favorable preference when specifying optimal and cost effective but passive flood defence.

Rapid onset flooding usually causes the greatest damage due to the lack of time to deploy the more traditional type of manually operated floodgates and "demountable" systems, typically stored off site, and requiring human intervention. The SCFB overcomes all the issues associated with these older- generation flood defenses and has the considerable advantage of not requiring any intervention during a flood warning, which would otherwise put lives at risk. The SCFB underwent more than 70 tests; these tests included static load, dynamic load, buoyancy force, sand and gravel tests, duration tests (35 days) extreme temperature tests, earthquakes tests, and obstruction tests. These tests concluded that the barrier never stayed stuck and rose in all tests. The SCFB remained watertight in all tests. The system is made of very durable materials designed to at least for 100 years and remains virtually maintenance free of many years.
